We were interested to read the meta-analysis by Nestaas et al[1] which states in its title that less frequent aminoglycoside dosing is safe and effective. About two years ago at this hospital, we reviewed the literature on gentamicin dosing and made the change to a larger but once daily gentamicin dose for term infants who received antibiotics after delivery.
