About ADC Fetal & Neonatal Edition

Aims and Scope

Archives of Disease in Childhood is an international peer review journal that aims to keep paediatricians and others up to date with advances in the diagnosis and treatment of childhood diseases as well as advocacy issues such as child protection. It focuses on all aspects of child health and disease from the perinatal period (in the Fetal and Neonatal edition) through to adolescence. ADC includes original research reports, commentaries, reviews of clinical and policy issues, and evidence reports. Areas covered include: community child health, public health, epidemiology, acute paediatrics, advocacy, and ethics.

Editions

The Fetal and Neonatal edition

This bimonthly edition of ADC brings together quality research and reviews in the field of perinatal and neonatal medicine. Original research papers cover fetal and neonatal physiology and clinical practice, genetics, perinatal epidemiology and neurodevelopmental outcomes.

Education and Practice edition

This edition of ADC published six times per year (launched in 2004) aims to assist paediatricians, at all levels in their training, in their ongoing professional development. The edition is supported by the RCPCH but has international appeal. The journal contains the following educational sections :

• Evidence-based paediatrics (Picket)
• Interpretations (making sense of diagnostic tests)
• Radiology (Illuminations) and dermatology (Dermatophile) quizzes

Paediatric and Perinatal Drug Therapy

Four times a year ADC will carry a distinct Paediatric and Perinatal Drug Therapy (PPDT) section publishing original research, reviews, comment and analysis in all areas of paediatric drug therapy. The current editors of PPDT, Imti Choonara, Tony Nunn and Michael Rieder will be the editors of this section.

As well as being published in print and online in ADC the section will be reprinted and sent to all members of the European Society for Developmental Perinatal and Paediatric Pharmacology and the Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacists Group. All subscribers to ADC will have access to PPDT papers.
